You've got to tip your hats to Teddy Santis and his team over at Aimé Leon Dore for breathing new life into New Balance's lifestyle category thanks to its fleet of collaborative projects that they've brought to life. Following up on their 860v2 collection, the duo has reunited to officially announce its latest initiative that involves a fresh take atop the New Balance 1906R.No adjustments have been made to the overall shape or the materials of the nostalgic runner, but ALD employs accents to its top and lower halves that are signature to the brand. A deep forest green hue shrouds the rear end's heel cage, backdrops of the toe box overlays and N logos while brighter doses of green show face on the reflective quarter panel overlays. Breathable mesh makes up a majority of the base layer which is done up with a creamy exterior and a touch of regal gold borders the aforementioned side panel New Balance logos. Additional nods to the New York-based streetwear label pop up on the tongues via floral icons as well as co-branded hits that are stamped to the insoles.Look for the kicks to release globally via New Balance on May 4 for $170 USD.Elsewhere in the realm of sneakers, a New Balance Made In USA 996 "Grey/Navy" colorway has been revealed.
