A$AP Rocky and PUMA have taken their partnership in several directions over the past few years. Models like the Mostro and Inhale have played a major role, but the Straycat gives the collaboration an entirely new silhouette. The design also keeps the automotive influence that has appeared throughout Rocky’s PUMA projects.
The Straycat has a much busier appearance than some of Rocky’s previous releases. A rugged outsole wraps upward onto parts of the upper, giving the shoe a look similar to the treatment used on the Mostro. Hardened mesh runs around the collar, while the Formstrips have a distressed finish.
The lacing is another detail that stands out. Instead of a traditional setup, the Straycat uses a double-lace system that adds another layer across the upper. As for the color scheme, the first pair is dressed in PUMA Black and Formula Red. Black covers most of the shoe, while Formula Red provides contrast across select areas.
