It feels like we’ve noted on countless occasions how the cook time between when a shoe releases and when a brand feels motivated to retro it is only getting more and more truncated. Aside from our insistence, that only seems to get truer and truer, from instances on the performance end like the Nike GT Cut 1 to lifestyle counterparts like the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack.”
Somewhere in the middle sits the Jordan 6 Rings “DMP,” last released at the same time that its partial inspiration in the Air Jordan 6 hit the shelves. With the Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude” more earnestly reviving this white/black/gold arrangement in 2023, this provides another opportunity to strike for the hybrid silhouette, remaining true to what fans recieved five years ago. Overall, the composition here should be easily digestible, fitting the 6-shoe mashup with regal gilded details, from the lace lock to the tufted tongue tab to the banner hits on the interior tongue, calling out MJ’s six ‘chip years and the year of release for the half dozen kicks that make up this one.
The Jordan 6 Rings “DMP” is available now via Nike.com, clocking in with a $175. Hit the “Where To Buy” links below to grab yours if you’re moved to cop.
