1980s Basketball Titan AVIA Returns With 830 and 880 Footwear Drop

After two decades off the map, footwear imprint AVIA is making its grand return to the footwear market this year. AVIA had a strong on-court presence in the early 1980s, establishing itself as a brand to watch. While the sports industry progressed, the brand took a back seat and is now back in full force. Restoring itself under AVIA International, AVIA's first official drop stays true to its roots with updated versions of its 830 and 880 models alongside a 14-piece apparel collection. Inspired by vintage sportswear, the release is an homage to sneaker lovers everywhere. First unveiled in 1986, AVIA's 830 sneaker arrives in a cream and dark green palette, featuring dated motifs that provide an aged feel. The high-top silhouette boasts tinted ankle collars, bold AVIA medial branding, and protective heel guards. Thin model-specific markings decorate the profiles stacked atop Cantilever System outsoles. AVIA's 880 reveals a bulky construction destined for the hardwood. Primed with original details, the 880 comes back with premium white leather paneling and grey textile accents at the medials, collars, and rears, alongside rubber throat straps and futuristic branding. EVA soles supply a comfortable game experience, complete with dual-colored bottoms. Take a closer look at AVIA upcoming drop in the gallery above. Both pairs are limited to 500 units each and will drop on May 5 via the brand's new website. In other news, Inter Milan presents limited-edition Nike Air Max 97 collaboration.
