Dubbed the Air Jordan 2 “Stay Melo”, the retirement tribute package featured two distinct colorways inspired by the two franchises most closely associated with Anthony’s Hall-of-Fame-caliber career: the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. While both pairs remained firmly within Player Exclusive territory, the Denver edition has now resurfaced through detailed new imagery that offers one of the closest looks yet at the commemorative design.

The sneaker itself closely mirrors the original Air Jordan 2 “Melo” released back in 2004, long considered one of the defining Air Jordan 2 drops of the early 2000s. However, the “Stay Melo” retirement version elevates the concept through a series of luxurious upgrades and tribute-focused details. Gold-plated “Stay Melo” badges appear at the heel while matching metallic finishes land on the Wings logo and eyelets. Inside, Jordan Brand added a premium quilted interior lining that further distinguishes the pair from its retail predecessor.

The project also serves as a reminder of Anthony’s longstanding relationship with the Air Jordan 2, widely regarded as his favorite model within the Air Jordan lineage. Even years removed from his final NBA game, Jordan Brand’s retirement tribute still feels fitting for one of basketball’s most influential scorers and cultural figures of the 2000s era, and with son Kiyan signing his own NIL deal with the Jumpman, there is every possibility that the Jordan Melo series, such as the 1.5 and 5.5, could return in the future.
