The New Balance 1906A Launches This Summer

The New Balance 1906 has been a staple of the brand’s retro-styled running catalog since its introduction several years ago. This week, we got an official look at the new 1906A variant, coming this Summer.

The 1906 model from New Balance is a piece of their history. Originally released in 2009, the shoe’s seemingly random number celebrates the year of the brand’s founding, back when they produced simple inserts for more comfortable arches in shoes. They have evolved plenty since then, building out an archive of classic sneakers. After the 1906 was reintroduced to their catalog in 2022, several variants slowly hit store shelves, the 1906R, the standard model, the D, which features the famous “Protection Pack” look, and the U, for utility. Now, a new 1906A has emerged, though it is currently unclear what the letter designates. These pairs feature exaggerated outer layers, with excess material hanging off of each panel, as well as extra webbing coming from the bottom of the ‘N’ logos. Two colorways are expected to be a part of the debut, one in black, and the other in silver.

NEW BALANCE 1906A RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s next iteration of the 1906, dubbed 1906A, has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to arrive sometime in Summer 2024. Coming in all-black or tonal silver, pairs are expected to debut from the brand’s website, with an expected price tag of $160.
