Six Streetwear Shops Helped Nike Craft the Air Max 1 '86 "Chicago"

While Nike continues its expansion across the world, it similarly seeks to establish communities throughout its established area of service. One such location that has served as the focal point to many releases to date is the city of Chicago. For this October, the Swoosh turns back to an event that devastated the town in October, 1871 -- the Great Chicago Fire. Teaming up with six streetwear shops -- Leaders, Notre, RSVP, St. Alfred, SVRN and Succezz -- an homage to the skyline of the "second city" developed in the aftermath of the tragedy has been created with the Air Max 1 '86.Alongside an Air Force 1 '07 bearing the theme, this Air Max 1 '86 combines gray and blue across the mixed material build. Its upper favors a combination of leather, synthetics and a rough suede as various grays go back and forth with a sky blue chiming in at the Swooshes situated throughout the shoe. A skyline graphic is depicted at both the tongue and sockliner, tying its presentation to the theme.Release for the Nike Air Max 1 '86 "Chicago" goes down on October 21 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $170 USD. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Saint Alfred (@saintalfred)For more of the latest from the footwear space, be sure to check out Sole Mates, the weekly Hypebeast series that spotlights notable individuals in street culture and the connection they share with their favorite shoes.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
