Few Nike sneakers capture the energy of the 2000s quite like the Shox R4, continuing to enjoy renewed relevance thanks to a Y2K trend that refuses to fade. Fall 2026 brings a new style that might cause a headache if you stare too long, the Beaverton brand pasting movement-inducing optical illusion art across the upper.
Official images show a hectic black and white, almost snakeskin-esque pattern throughout, running vertically on the molded side areas and horizontally just about everywhere else. The fine scale of the print creates a sense of movement when viewed from a distance, producing what looks like multiple ripples across the sides depending on the angle. The main Swoosh logos are removed to let the pattern breathe uninterrupted, replaced by red mini Swooshes on the toe cap instead.
The Nike Shox R4 “Optical Illusion” lands Fall 2026 via Nike and select retailers for $155 in men’s sizes. See official images below if you’re considering copping.
