Nike is colliding some of its most iconic lifestyle and soccer franchises ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Tinker Hatfield’s Nike Air Max 90 has surfaced in two styles inspired by legendary boots: the Total 90 Laser and Hypervenom.

Let’s go in chronological order for simplicity’s sake. Introduced in 2007, the Total 90 Laser was downright revolutionary, led by rubber panels on the instep that optimized shooting precision. Its older sibling in the Total 90 III is currently enjoying a renaissance of its own, with both series championed by names like Wayne Rooney, Luis Figo, and other stars of the 2000s. The Total 90 Laser x Air Max 90 crossover features the boot’s classic yellow color across most of the upper and sole, with rubber detailing appearing on the toe box in proper T90 Laser fashion. The coolest detail lives on the outsole: an X-ray skeleton foot graphic pulled directly from the boot.

Now we fast forward to the Nike Hypervenom era in 2013. Debuted as a successor to the Total 90 line, the Hypervenom featured a textured NikeSkin upper for enhanced ball feel and precision. The original black and orange colorway is the obvious choice for this lifestyle tribute, paired with an all-new synthetic upper featuring dedicated zones for the backtab, toe box, mudguard window, and so on.
