It was 20 years ago that Nike and Apple began their partnership, bringing together two of the country’s most iconic sportswear and technology brands to create products at the intersection of both worlds. That history has been back in the spotlight lately thanks to Apple CEO Tim Cook – a longtime Nike board member and shareholder – who’s recently been spotted wearing unreleased Travis Scott shoes. Viral moments aside, we now have some actual new collaborative product to report.

Nike and Beats By Dre, the latter owned by Apple since 2014, are linking up for the first time to deliver a special-edition Powerbeats Pro 2 colorway. The Powerbeats Pro 2 packs a number of athlete-focused features, including secure-fit earhooks, heart rate monitoring sensors, active noise cancelling, sweat and water resistance, and up to 45 hours of battery life. Nike’s exclusive makeup, co-signed by longtime Beats partner LeBron James, leans into the brand’s signature “Volt” color and comes complete with a paint-splattered charging case.

“When two iconic brands like Beats and Nike come together, it’s more than a collaboration – for me, it’s family,” says LeBron. “I’ve been part of the Beats journey since day one with the original Powerbeats, and the Powerbeats Pro 2 represent everything I need in my daily routine, whether I’m training, recovering or just living life. These aren’t just my go-to earbuds – they’re built for anyone who refuses to compromise on performance.”

The Nike x Powerbeats Pro 2 releases first via an early-access lottery on March 17th through the Nike SNKRS app. A wider global launch follows on March 20th via Nike.com, Apple.com, and Apple Stores. The Powerbeats Pro 2 typically retail for $250, although this Nike collaboration could carry a slight markup. Check out detailed images below if you’re considering going for a pair.
