Over the past few years, Nike has employed on-and-off retro takes of Charles Barkley’s inaugural signature silhouette. Following a lengthy hiatus throughout the second half of last year, 2023 has instead returned a number of OG colorways of the Air Max CB ’94; including this brown scale effort for fall.

The Godzilla-inspired tread and straight jacket-like upper all return to one of the most favored signature releases from throughout the early 90s. Infused with a contemporary palette, the Air Max 2-associated silhouette cures its leather underlays in a striking light tan while buttercream accents compliment the mesh tongue construction and tooth-carved midsole. The sprawling upper overlays add a decadent dark chocolate treatment to the cast of neutrals while clarifying jet-black contrasts fill the number of perforations, logos, elastic straps and tread underfoot.
