Dr. Martens Teams Up With Tokyo Label Wacko Maria for Leopard Print Oxfords

Dr. Martens has joined forces with Tokyo-based label Wacko Maria. For the first-ever shoe to come out of the partnership, the brands revamped a pair of the classic 1461 Oxfords.Launched in 2005, Wacko Maria was founded by retired professional soccer players Keiji Ishizuka and Atsuhiko Mori. The brand aims to hold a Japanese lens up to American culture, drawing inspiration from film, art and movies.The remixed shoe takes a Wacko Maria signature – a bold animal print – and brings it to the Oxfords. Exemplifying the two brands’ individual connections to subcultures, the Oxford is being offered in a leopard print, available in a tan camel shade and a crisp white.The Oxford is set on Dr. Martens’ rubber DMS sole and, naturally, features the brand’s recognizable bright yellow stitching.The shoe arrives as only one of Dr. Martens’ latest collaborations.
