Devin Booker and Nike Reveal the Nike Book 1

It's finally time for Devin Booker to receive his first signature shoe courtesy of Nike Basketball. The project has been rumored throughout 2023 with an early preview of his debut silhouette popping up just months ago.Named the Nike Book 1, the Ben Nethongkome-designed shoe blends classic Nike styling with court-readiness, supporting the guard's deadly midrange game. Booker shared that the emphasis was on creating a future classic, something that would be timeless. Silhouettes such as the Air Force 1, Blazer and Air Jordan 1 all served as inspiration with an additional nod to his restored '72 Chevrolet Blazer K5.Looking closer at its construction, a workwear-inspired canvas touches down at the textured upper, offering ample durability for wear on and off the court. Elsewhere, a suede collar and leather detailing at the forefoot reinforce the pair. Its complex sole unit features Cushlon 2.0 foam at the midsole, an Air Zoom unit, midfoot shank plate, TPU sidewall cage and herringbone traction to ensure that there's no compromises in performance. Final thematic touches come courtesy of "BOOK" branding at the tongue, "CHAPTER ONE" text at the heel and a barcode at the sockliner that nods to his journey thus far.For those interested in picking up the Nike Book 1, you'll have to hang tight as the shoe remains set for a spring 2024 launch period in two debut colorways.
