The first collaboration from New York-based apparel brand Aimé Leon Dore and Boston’s New Balance came in 2019, and landed as one of the hottest releases of the year. The release featured a mismatched pair of the 997, and now, the two are returning to the model with two new colorways for a Fall/Winter 2024 release.

Aimé Leon Dore’s projects with New Balance have been some of the most consistent and sought-after releases of the past few years. Since their debut in 2019, the two have released collaborations seasonally, debuting new models and fresh colorways to coincide with ALD’s apparel lines. The NYC brand has helped to reintroduce some of the most popular shoes of the same time frame, like the 550, Rainier, and soon, the 475. However, this week they’ve teased a return to their first canvas, the 997.

The first release of the ALD 997 marked their first project with New Balance, and was centered around a handball theme, giving the shoe brightly colored accents. This Fall’s release will be their first project with the shoe since, and will now come in two colorways. The first bears some resemblance to the original, with a white and grey main body and some colored accent around the throat. The second colors the model in a dark green leather, which shows hints of burgundy and yellow accents in the teaser images.

AIME LEON DORE X NEW BALANCE 997 FALL 2024 RELEASE INFORMATION

The next release from New York’s Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance has not been announced yet, and likely will not release until later this year. Throwing back to their first collaboration, the 997 returns in two colors, white and dark green, though no other information is available yet.
