adidas’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Superstar ‘Shelltoe’ Arrives in 2024

This week, a new project from adidas surfaced that will see the Three Stripes teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP for a limited-edition TMNT ‘Shelltoe’ Superstar, coming in Spring 2024.

When adidas introduced the Superstar back in 1969, the shoe’s iconic rubber toe cap was a point of fascination for both athletes and casual wearers. As the model grew into its fame, it took on the moniker of the ‘Shelltoe’ thanks to the protective piece’s resemblance to a turtle shell. Now, adidas is taking the name a step further, teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to create an actual shell toe version of the retro model. Revealed in close-up photos by Complex last week, the pair features a premium leather upper in dark olive green, paired with bright red stripes and black heels and linings. The toe cap has been reworked to feature a turtle shell pattern, while TMNT branding can be found on the heels and pizza-print insoles. Other details include Raphael’s red mask as a lace jewel, gold foil Shelltoe branding, and special action figure packaging akin to the original Star Wars sneakers from the mid-2000s.

TMNT X ADIDAS SUPERSTAR ‘SHELLTOE’ RELEASE INFORMATION

The upcoming release from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and adidas has not been scheduled to release yet, though the project is expected to release sometime in Spring 2024. Applying a very literal Shelltoe to the iconic Superstar, pairs will likely be available from adidas and select retailers for $130, complete with special packaging.
