Balenciaga Updates the Triple S Sneaker In Luxe-Looking Technical Materials

Balenciaga has become the undisputed king of luxury sneakers, delivering everything from its Runner sneaker and the distressed Paris sneaker to more divisive pairs like the HD, Defender, and the Tyrex. However, despite the Demna-helmed House continuing to put out a slew of new designs, it looks as if it hasn't given up on the sneaker that changed everything: the Triple S. Now, following the controversial adidas co-designed pairs, Balenciaga is back with two new Triple S offerings made from a technical fabric. In an effort to become increasingly sustainable, the Triple S maintains its "leather-free" status and doubles down on this by axing the mesh layers. Instead, a "technical material" made from 95% polyurethane and 5% polyester has been used, giving the illusion of plush, luxuriously smooth leather. For a synthetic, the material does look like a good premium leather alternative, with natural-looking ripples and light creases giving that desired texture to the sneaker.Elsewhere, all of the usual Triple S components remain. Alongside the multitude of panels is a complex three-piece sole unit, plenty of embroidered and embossed branding and House cues, and of course, a price tag as chunky as the sole. While a usual Triple S retails for $1,050 USD, these two "technical material" offerings come in at $1,150 USD. Take a closer look at them both above, and purchase them online now.In case you missed it, Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace has debuted an Air Force 1-based pair of rollerskates inspired by Dr. Dre's The Chronic.
