Aimé Leon Dore is not letting go of their hold over the New Balance 550. Having helped relaunched the retro silhouette in 2020, they are adding two more colorways in shades of brown sometime this year.

By now, it is well known that Aimé Leon Dore helped launch the craze over New Balance’s 550 retro, a ’90s basketball shoe revived for the modern day audience. Since then, the 550 has skyrocketed to sneaker fame, and can currently be found in nearly every imaginable color combination under the sun. However, ALD continues to carve out a lane for themselves, releasing their own subtle takes on the model. This week, a new ‘Brown’ pack has emerged, showing two suede pairs outfitted in different shades of brown suede, one light, and one dark. They both feature canvas underlays, and a revised ALD 550 tag on the tongues.

Aimé Leon Dore’s next colorways of their New Balance 550 have not been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime later this year. Arriving in two shades of brown with shaggy suede uppers, pairs will likely be available through their usual raffle platform for $130.
